Content & Details

Do you know when to administer IV fluids, what type of fluid bag to use, how much to administer and when to stop administration? Do you know the difference between osmolarity, osmolality and tonicity? What about the different fluid compartments and how to correct fluid deficits in each? Do you know that there are different types of dehydration? Do you know the "old shock dose" is now considered to be too high? Do you know that Starling's law of the capillary has been updated - colloids don't do quite what we thought them to do (additionally, we have come to learn that synthetic colloids have quite a number of risks associated with them), and the revision including the glycocalyx?

So many questions, right??

Our cards and notebook will help answer these questions and more, from fluid compartments to practical tips and everything in between.

IV fluid therapy is something I am passionate about and strongly believe needs to be brought more to the forefront.

IV fluid therapy is something we use on an almost daily basis in the veterinary profession, and yet there is still quite a bit of confusion surrounding its use. To be fair, fluid therapy guidelines is an ever-evolving subject, and much like medical guidelines, gets updated periodically. It is however, important to stay up to date with the most current research at the time. Fluid therapy is not benign and is considered to be a drug. It is extremely important that fluid therapy be used correctly. Incorrect usage or dosage can lead to, and has led to, amongst other adverse effects, fluid overload and death in patients. We can do better.

Images, tables, reference ranges and formulas are also included for easy understanding of the topics covered and for quick reference.

If you are unable to answer any of the questions posed above, or you just know you need some help with IV fluid therapy guidelines, then this is for YOU!

It is perfect for pre-vet students, vet students, vet tech students, vet techs, vet nurses and vets.

Secondary to previous order

I had a previous order that everything didn’t show up. They were quick to help me out with the fixed and even threw in a freebie. Support staff was lovely and kind!

Worth the cost. I get good use out of this product.

All the cards didn't fit on the key chain.

Great Resource!

I could not be happier with this purchase! It is such a helpful resource working on the floor!

Amazing!

Good info

I work in emergency medicine and I feel these references will be great help in a pinch of time. Unfortunately all the cards don’t fit on the badge reel so will need to figure something out to have them all together. Thank you.

Fantastic product, easily carried around to make notes and a fantastic reference resource at the back.
No vet professional should be without one

Working at an ER, the reference charts towards the back of the book have already proven to be very helpful in proving care to our critical patients! We're already considering getting more ordered for the rest of the staff for Vet Tech Week.

Clever

Very clever idea Vetpocket! Small enough for my scrubs pocket. Large enough to accommodate information specific for my hospital. Pre printed information at the back of the notebook is USEFUL, ranging from vaccine guidelines to emergency guidelines and a variety in-between. Useful for GP to emergency techs. I chose the "indigo" color that turned out to be a beautiful purple 💜.

Great Pocketbook!

I always have notebooks in my work back but I took them all out and replaced with this! It’s great for my personal notes and I absolutely love the references in the back! Even after several years in this field I can always use the reminder for some things. Coincidentally I needed to remember how to do a manual platelet count the day I ordered this!

Love it!

What a great bundle! I pick and choose the group of cards I’ll be using depending on the Dr I’m working with that week!

Perfect

It holds all my reference cards I need an I had purchased as well love it!

Wish they were a bit larger but overall well made

Love It!!

Really love this and everything it comes with. The only down side is you can’t keep the reference cards and the calculator in the storage space without the calculator being turned on constantly. Other than that EVERYTHING is super helpful, especially in an emergency setting with constant anesthetic procedures
